Eyeopener - Atlanta, Detroit Can Pick Up Their Parting Gifts At The Door

-Da Bulls took down Atlanta Hawks in a 93-73 rout.  They most certainly will now be underdogs to El Heat even after beating out Miami for the number one seed in the East.

-Patrick Marleau scored the gaming winning goal and Antti Niemi made an unbelievable glove save with 30 seconds left to preserve a 3-2 Sharks victory and a series win.  Detroit now becomes a footnote in history instead of a whole paragraph.

-Carlos Beltran send three balls over the outfield fence as the Mets beat the plummeting Rockies, 9-5.  It was Beltran’s first three home run game of his career.

-The Tampa Bay Rays have the best road record in all of baseball after notching a 7-4 win over the Indians in Cleveland.  James Shields improved to 4-1 with the win.

-You can’t spell Hosmer without HOMER.  Ugh, sorry about that.  That new kid homered and doubled in a 3 hit performance as the Royals took their first series against the Evil Empire since Bill Clinton was in office in 1999.

-Former Cowboys running back Ron Springs, father of NFL player Shawn Springs, died at age 54 yesterday of an apparent heart attack.

-Citizen’s Bank Park will host the 2012 Winter Classic on New Year’s Day.  The lobbying contingent from Tampa Bay promised to work harder to bring the 2013 event to South Florida.

-The All-NBA teams announced yesterday.  No surprises.
